HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KATV) -- Two high school girls in Hot Springs are now the first people in the state to successfully print a 3D brain tumor.

Ella Pace and Madeline Scott are part of the "EAST" program at Hot Springs World Class High School; their goal is to gain real world experience in the medical field. When the two sat in on a brain surgery a few months back, they decided to build a replica of a patient's tumor, to give her a sense of empowerment.

The project six months in the making came to life Tuesday afternoon in a doctor's office, where Ella and Madeline presented an exact replica of the tumor that was once inside Nancy Foris' brain.
