Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management District Awards Recycling Education / Waste Reduction Grants

The Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management District (SWCRSWMD) is a three-county cooperative regional solid waste management district comprised of Clark County (including the City of Arkadelphia and City of Gurdon), Garland County (including the City of Hot Springs) and Hot Spring County (including the City of Malvern).

The SWCRSWMD is pleased to announce the award of Recycling Education / Waste Reduction Grants to the following schools for 2018-2019:  Bismarck School District ($1,500), Hot Springs World Class High School ($3,000), Oaklawn Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School ($3,000) and Arkadelphia Primary School ($3,000).  A total of $10,500 will be distributed to the four schools to assist in the development of recycling programs.

The SWCRSWMD funds this grant program to assist our schools to educate their students, faculty and community about the importance of the recycling of solid waste to provide students information about the stewardship of Arkansas’ natural resources and the reduction of solid waste generated by each resident.
